About Peter Riley
I was an avid birder for thirty years before finally picking up a camera in 2011. During those years I learned where to go, when to go and what to look for. I also learned to observe behavior and how to approach birds without causing them to fly away.

Between my time spent at home in Vermont and frequent trips through the years to Cape May, NJ, I have taken thousands of photos but very few of rare birds. It’s fair to say that I endeavor to take uncommon photos of common species.
